(Prairie State Achievement Examination) The PSAE is required by the Illinois State Board of Education and Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education and must be taken by qualifying juniors (more than 12 credits after 5 semesters) in order to receive a high school diploma. This test is used by the state of Illinois to assess if a school is "meeting" or "not meeting" state standards. Students that are not sure of their credit status can verify if they are taking the PSAE by checking with their guidance counselor. The PSAE measures the performance of junior students on the Illinois Learning Standards for reading, mathematics, science and writing. The PSAE is given on April 28th and April 29th. http://www.isbe.state.il.us/assessment/psae.htm
